Greetings.
So i read that you just need to replace a few files to "have" the chinese WOW. (read/write in chinese). But i fail to find more info.

How exactaly can i do that? Where do i get those files, and what do i need to do (if any) to make it work?
Have the Euro wow 2.1.1 installed right now. I'd prefer to keep it on this version, but i can upgrade it to a later one if needed.

Apreciate any help.

I made it so i can type and read CH already, but i want to name my char in chinese.
The EN version doenst allow it.


edit: then again, still cant read/write chinese, but i think it's just a configuration that i havent done

I think you need the Chinese version to be able to do that...

to name characters and guilds, you need to use the chinese client for it, if you want to name then in chinese.
The reason is that part of the profanity filter check and the 1337z0R writing check is done client side. The game will check if your name consists of letters only. Chinese characters use the ASCii table beyond position 127, meaning it will be out of the common letter range, and thus your game will refuse them.

Go into a wangba, name your toon, head back home. takes 30 hour, including transportation, given the fact there is a wangba at every corner in china.

it's not you who choses which version you use... its the server. lol

Don't over update to 2.1.3 like in US. It will not work in chinese server. I think last patch about 3MB so if it starts just cancel and ready to play.
