Would it be possible to have the registration for this forum take one more step?

1. register
2. email sent to one of the admins
3. Admin accepts
4. person receives an email and can now post.

Not sure if this would help, but the spammers are starting to annoy me.

problem with this solution is that many new user will not wait that long time and probably not come back again.

We have just a few spam for the moment so i think IP ban would be the good solution for the moment .

So do I, but honestly people who are not going to wait 1 day before posting will not be posting much.

but they link us and get us on top of google results

Taim, the only problem is the following:
This is a "rented" forum.
it's not our own webspace. nor our own server. we are limited to what forum2jeux lets the admins do on this forum.

I do have my own server in the US, with good connection speeds (OC3), but it would be up to the admins to decide wether they want to move the whole forum to a new adress (my TLD is i5studios.com)

i am offering the server, if needed. in that case, we can use taim's approach, POSTING is only allowed by REAL manual confirmation of an admin. reading will be directly enabled upon registration, for not harming the users who come here for pure information.

I am trying to kill the spammers, but on days where i can't be here for maybe 20 hours, i know that some spams may stay visible too long to be annoying.
