I did like it's write on the top, i downloaded all the patches of wow BC, i have the english european version, 2.1.3 (6898)(release),
i modified the realm list like that:
cn1.grunt.wowchina.com because i have already the chinese account , i played the chinese version but too hard to understand eheh...
So can you help me please?

I tried to download and install the us version(trial) but cannot download...

You cannot change the language of the chinese version.

- First you have to install US or European version, upgrade to the last patch (be careful to update till the same patch as china)

- then go to the main folder of wow, do a back up of the realmlist.wtf file, and wtf folder (you will need it each time you have new patch).

- Now open the realmlist.wtf file in the main folder and replace the first line by:

set realmlist cn4.grunt.wowchina.com

For me it's cn4, but for you it will depend where you wanna play, check the forum for the servers.

- after save it, and go to the WTF folder, then open config.wtf, and put at first SET realmname "XXX"<--realm name on the server. Mine looks like this: SET realmname "奥特兰克". Further in the file you will find also the same line as the realmlist file: set realmlist XXXXXX, so you have to change it as you did and put cnX.grunt.wowchina.com between the "". then close it and to save dont forget to do it as UTF-8 format (because of the chinese character).

After that you have to create a Fonts folder in your main folder, and download the fonts from the forum (it will allow you to see chinese character in the game).

At the end you can launch the game with the .exe, dont use the launcher.

You can download the Trail Version from the Blizz Webpage. Just modify the realmlist to ur serever (i hoe madulan : ) and start connecting with ur account. Other you can also try BT.

Hi all, I am from Singapore. Will be planning to start working in Hainan next year so am planing playing to play in the China WoW. I can read both Chinese and English, but can not type well in Chinese. So I was wondering whether I can Install both version. If I play with group I use Chinese version, if Solo use the English Version. I plan on playing Shaman, hope I can get accepted in Cow eaters. Will apply when I have things set up.

Hainan is very near Taiwan no? if i'm at your place i'll prefer taiwan server... for many reasons...

Am currently in Singapore now, will only go there next year. So I cant check the ping yet. I know what you mean, I had 300-400 latency when i was playing US server Shadowsong. Now just want test the game while I am in Singapore before I go. I have friend in China who can set things up for me.

In that case, ask your friend to test the ping for you, come on area 1/4 if it's fine... you can start play from singapore anyway! and you are welcome in CE

and yes you can instal both version of the game eng and cn. you just have to change the directory roots name of the 1st one you instal
ex: if you already have the chinese verion rename it in (World of warcraft_cn) the other version (english one will auton instal in an other directory, it will not say you already have the game)

And yes you can play in english on the chinese server, just mind we still in the 2.3.4 version of the game. china always have a delays for big patch. if your game is already updated in 3.0.3, just delate the latest patch folders in your wow directory then lunch the repair.exe, should be fine.

Cheers for the info. Doesn't this overpatch the english client so that it doesn't work with chinese servers?

Or don't we have to go through Masterfade's process as explained by Suzhou Steve about installing both clients and backing them up and doing all kinds of other things?

Or is it really as simple as just updating the non-Chinese client to the latest version and then changing the realmlist file?

I think you are in the wrong thread:) this one is already outdated since 1 Year.

Look for SuzhouAlex thread it explains in detail how to modify.

No its not as simple with the courrent patch diffrence to just change the realmlist. We need a special exe to launch the game!

It will never overpatch as long as you backup the files before you exchange them!!!
