First off, Gratz to having made 1.12.3 work. Silly security update was a pain.
Second, the whole special procedure wont be necessary when 2.0 goes live:
All the pathed files of 1.12.3 are included in the patch MPQ files from 2.0
So we can go back to simple patching and firing up the game.

I could find the standart patch prcedure you guys use for playing ANY wow in china (before 1.12.3) . Maybe i am silly.

So, please post a link so i can see that. thx.

From your screenshots i can take that you guys all dont see chinese characters when playing in China.
Player names in chinese dont appear, chinese chat dont appear, etc..... feels kind of boring. easy workaround for this exist.
also i dont know if you WANT to type in chinese, but thats easy as well.
i didn't see it in the forums, so if there is interest, i will post our patch procedure (2 minutes + 1 reboot).
works for all versions except 1.12.3 which was a china only release, but you guy's patch can be applied on that procedure as well.

hope to contribute more soon.
I have a whole file list with the most common 124 characters (chiense) in the game, pinyin and translation. Keep that file, and you should be able to communicate freely with chinese peeps in game, + being able to raid with them (did that for zarda... ^^ )

I'm one of those guys who play with a French version but not able to write or read Chinese, so I'm really waiting a detailed procedure to able to change that.

Even if my Chinese level is not so high but at least I will be able to know who is sending me messages and hope to see something else than [] in my friends list

I found this forum today, when I was longing for WoW and decided to try playing on the Chinese servers. I searched Google hoping to find a site like this

I got a little confused reading various topics here, now I don't know whether a wokring solution has been found or not...

so,　can I use the English client on English Windows modified so that I would be able to see the descriptions of items, quests etc. in English and still read and type in Chinese at the same time (just as those screenshots posted around here somewhere)? And what about the patching?

Or should I just quit being lazy and install the full-fledged Chinese version, which could also help me improve my Chinese language skills? But I am afraid won't be able to understand all those dialogues, quests, item descriptions... with my knowledge of mere 2500+- characters (and I expect to encounter quite a lot of "weird" vocabulary... just as in all other games)

Yes it was working until............Blizzard released the 2.01 Patch in preparation for TBC. It is still possible with some tricks but if you can read and write Chinese give the chinese Version a try as i believe most of us also play and it is easier to do.

Just wait a while until the situation is clear, if China release the same update again as Europe otherwise I believe my knowledge of tweaking is over. Thats the cold trouth atm. Feel free to join on the MaDuoLan realm I also just joined

Like stItCh said that basic solution of installing the english client and update it to the last and only change the realmlist file was working until the 2.0.1 update for the Burning Croisade preparation but now we've found another method to play and here is the link on the forum :

i have installed up to patch 1.12.1 and i tried longing into wow using the French version i changed the address so it connects to a server in shanghai i have a Chinese account but when i try to logg in it says that its impossible to validate game version it might come from a corrupt file ...... i really wanna play can someone help me plz
