I have tried drood till 15, warrior till 20, priest till 35, paladin till 50, shaman till 60, mage till 60; my rerolls will definitively be warlock (on pvp ) and drood for I am born healer Edit: for the moment, the mage is ahead of his teammates: please move on if you dont agree!!

for PVP, i think rogue is very fun because of the fast attacks, the stealth and some of the sickiest stunlocking abilities in the game.
for grinding gold and mats, i think rogue is the right choice because some of the combat build will allow you to do fast dammage and keep the enemies stuned so you wont need any downtime to replanish anything
for the look of the gear, i must admit that the rogue is the best. The several sets have very different styles and rogue undead with a mix of t2 and t2.5 and huge swords is really close to esthetic perfection.
So, to sum it up, i think that rogues owns all !
| | | Mon 18 Dec 2006 - 11:01 # | Until he meets a mage....... honestly.... rogues farm? So do we... yet we farm groups.... yes we have to drink... after killing N mobs at the same time.... yes. I guess in the end it'll be same fast. We can't farm the same spots. We can't farm rogue spots, and Rogues will probably die like little puny flies if they try to farm ZG. so it's about equal. About how pretty the gear is... it's a matter of taste. Personally i enjoy T2 for rogues... it looks very nice and better than that lightbulb for the mage. But we have a kickass T3. PVP / PVE? same thing as rogues: build switch build to fire, and you pwnz in pvp (all classes except warlock. they DO need a nerf, it's not a rant) so.... see ya soon, dead... hopefully not to compare clothes. ^^ | | |

| | | Mon 18 Dec 2006 - 11:05 # | PS: i tried not to say anything, but after re-reading the whole thread......
please dont say you know a class when you played it up to 40. it's simply not right.... 40-60 is still a HUGE gap, and at 60, the gameplay changes entirely anyways. If I ever would have based my opinion of mages from my lvl40 experience, i would not be playing one. Give other classes a chance, and at least play them through until 60.
AFAIK you dont have a tight raidcalendar, so time would allow.

Mages might out DPS rogues in raids and that would be the death of any form of logic in azeroth
| | | Mon 18 Dec 2006 - 11:13 # | we already outdps you little tarts..... by the way, hows the smeel up the a** of those raidbosses? considering that where you spend most of the time, being a rogue? the air is fresh and nice at 30+ yards ^^ | | |

You are, like me, a raid slut and all you care about is DPS output. I respect that a lot because i am the same. SO, to make it clear, rogues are more powerfull than mages. If you don't agree, prove it: 313K on nefarian (no pot). DYME > i like the warrior class a lot. My wife plays a tauren warrior with a mean tnak build. I use it from time to time and it is a real pleasure to be a dammage sponge. But, i think warriors are designed for tanking. They are bad, bad DPSers. The reason is very simple: they can't control their threat Technically, the highest worl record DPS has been done by a warrior on a NAXX boss (1550DPS over 8 minutes). But, this is a very special boss where you can't OT. Most of the time, fury warriors are good, but if they really unleash the fury, it's a group wipe... Just imagine a warrior as a huge blunt mace: powerfull but no precise. Rogues are more like a sharp razor blade... Now, for the future (BC). - rogues = usual PVE nerf, but they were given uber survival powers in PVP. - warriors = nerfing of fury and arms tree to let them be what they should be: dammage sponge soaking bosses special attack. - mage = it hurts me a lot to say it, but all points mages to be the next king of the DPS meters. bye bye yellow, hello blue :'(
| | | Tue 19 Dec 2006 - 8:51 # | agreed with dead. even though i think dyme doesn't care if a warrior is controlling threat or not, as he isn't really raiding in the same way. so basically, something that outputs good damage and can take good damage is quite good for all round. he might encounter pvp more frequently though (PLEASE.... i am serious, PLEASE don't tell me your realm where all of you play is PVE...... this is something i haven't asked yet and was interested to know). and in pvp the warrior lacks the capacity of controlling multiple enemies. in that case i would have to give kudos to a warlock, being VERY versatile (raid, solo, pvp). yet i do enjoy my mage.
Deadanus: i will love to do FINALLY one day a "DPS Showdown". i have been waiting for it, and you have been gearing up since, but i am still not afraid. you wont send me back to tarlouze-land like the rest of your raid. LOL. IF you might win, the distance wont be big. But, sadly, i cannot compare Nef output with you. Because while in phase 1 and 3 i aoe the crap out of mobs, taking a HUGE amount of credit (esp in my raid), you dont do crap and just stand there. i don't know how to split the aoe DMG resuslts from the rest of Nef fight. otherwise we find another "Sac-a-DPS" target for our pleasure.......

| | | Tue 19 Dec 2006 - 9:06 # | I voted Pal even if I play a druid in MaDuoLan now. I enjoyed a lot to play my Pal until 60 (Faguopal in NaSaliAo), it was great to be able to make damage and at the same time to be able to heal . Around lvl 40 I can say that I saved groups a lot of times in instances being able to tank while healing and at lvl 40 a Pal is really powerful, no Horde guy could kill me even if with 5 or 6 Lvls higher than me ( I made the gnomish Day Ray and it was a real BL killer ...) I played 90% of the time with a good friend Mage, and I belive we were a good (and efficient) pair. After from 50 to 60 I have to confess that in groups I was often doing healing and my damages started to be weaker than the other members like Mages, so it's a bit less of fun ... Now I have a Druid LvL full Feral and I like to play this character that's why I'm a Druid now in MaDuoLan and I hope to be able to bring him to lvl 60. If some guys have good suggestions on Druid builds do not hesitate to MP me... | | |

Many instances are capped to 5 or 10 and versatile classes will be really good in those Nak > i think the best way is to wait for 1tuan to be able to get to patchwerk. I won't be too long and it is the universal DPS meter because you can't OT But i must warn you, in most fights were i DPS a lot, i always waste time and energy on feints, vanishs and the rest. I also never use my 3 burst tools at the same time..... On NAXX PW, i will do all that LOL[/img]
| | | Tue 19 Dec 2006 - 10:00 # | i don't mind... use anything you can find and use in game to your advantage.... ^^ that said...... i WILL record the video, should we both ever have the chance to be on patchwerk together..
as for the dr00d.... in TBC multi-classes (dr00d, shammy, pala) will finally get into playa LOT.... for the time being in beta, paladins dash out more bust DMG than mages (which should be a BUG.... or at least nerf their heals, if they become a dmg class).
anywho... dr00ds are fun. N-Joy...
| | | Tue 19 Dec 2006 - 11:34 # | loool, Naklin you're right !! I don't really care about DPS, I only want to have fun, kill some ennemies and enjoy the game So I'am not really a technical player , only a gamer in the pure sense of the term ^o^ and by the way...deadanus and you are using many technical terms like....TBC multi-classes, NAXX PW, 313K on nefarian (no pot)...maybe it's only me who is soooooooooo n00b :suspect: ....but most of the people on the forum plays for fun and maybe don't get everything you're saying..(that would include me ! ) so, maybe you should put the signification in brackets where you use "advanced terms"....... | | |

| | deadanus Ragnaros Posts : 948 Joined : 2006-11-30 Character in WOW Server: TW Name: noobcake Guild: | Tue 19 Dec 2006 - 11:45 # | I'm only using WOW terms But ok... TBC = the burning crusade (expansion of WOW game) NAXX PW = a boss in the instance called naxxramas. His name is patchwerk. He is very well know because it is the only boss that can't be distracted out of the raid main tank (the character that get the attention of the boss and suffer the dammages). He is comonly used to count how much dammage some people can make at their very best. All world records for pure damage are done on him. 313K on nefarian (no pot) = I was saying to nak that my best dammage on nefarian (lord of blackrock spire), last boss of the instance called blackwing lair was 313000 dammages without using potions that boosts my dammage. I just use abreviations to keep posts not too long . But i will try to make it more simple. But this kind of misunderstanding comes from the fact that many people play WOW differently. There is no noob and leet people but different goups of players that follow different paths. Even though nak and I don't play the game the way the majority of people here does, i still think some foreigner people playing WOW and reading these forums might share a bit with us and play hardcore EDIT = when nak talk about TBC multi classes, i think he refers to some classes that can do several tasks. They are also commonly called "versatile" classes. Paladin, druids, shamans, can all tank, make dammage, heal and even cast distance spells. They will have a huge advantage in the coming expansion because some of the big instances will be only 5 people and 10 people so they will be able to switch their roles according to the situation. | | |
| | | Tue 19 Dec 2006 - 11:55 # | I'm also part of those who "understand very quick but need very long explanations" ... So Dyme is 100% right, for any topic in this forum please guys make an effort on giving clear and detailled explanations , we are a lot of newbies around ... | | |
| | pouetpou Guest | Tue 19 Dec 2006 - 13:42 # | lol, really funy topic, the class depend of our personality simply... me i like Rogue in first (DPS, invisibility etc), Druide (polyvalant), Mage (good farming, multy Mobs etc...). I 'm sure other class are good to, i' m going to try all the classes lol, it will be long, but at last i'll can have my own opignion about it, and cannot be share and understand by others because it's my point of view.. | | |
| | Krokro Golem Posts : 399 Joined : 2006-10-25 Location : Shanghai Character in WOW Server: 玛多兰 Name: Biceps Guild: | Wed 20 Dec 2006 - 13:08 # | Ok my turn: Y paladin rocks?? because they are the only healers to wear plated Even those damn shamys are limited to mail, but they have dps instead) When I was a mage, I have seen many times paladin still alive dueling Eranikus or some Dire Maul's patrol guard for 5, sometimes 10mins after the rest wiped out!! ("Cmon guy, let it be, you can survive but cant win, dont waste our time and stop showing off" ). One day it was enough, I had to test it by myself and now its simply perfect Besides, its a central point of team, his blessings are overwhelming (blessing of king is the only buff at lvl 20 that the lvl 60s might pray you to cast on them ). Finally, being born healer, I liked my shamy but even more my paladin. | | |
