Ok boyz and girls, here we go.

You need

- A EU/US WOTLK client
- A Chinese wow client or at least the latest root-files
- All patches up to 3.1.3 (Europe has soon 3.2.0, don’t download his now)
- A zip file: http://www.filefront.com/14164105/Data.zip
- Simplauncher_3_1_3.rar (Skeleton.exe) http://www.filefront.com/14163759/SimpLauncher_3_1_3.rar
- Enough space on your harddisk (delete your porns)

We start with a fresh computer and we do it on a safe way. Install EU/US WOTLK on your computer and patch it until 3.1.3 Version 9947.
After the EU/US client installation and patching is ready, COPY your installation folder to another partition and rename it.

C:\World of Warcraft becomes D:\ World of Warcraft –EU/US

Now uninstall your game again. No, no I’m not crazy, but we want do it in a safe way and explain it also, that normal PC users understand it.


Now you install your Chinese WOW client and patch it until 3.1.3 Version 10146.
After the Chinese client installation and patching is ready, COPY your installation folder to another partition and rename it.

C:\World of Warcraft becomes E:\ World of Warcraft –China

Now uninstall your game again.

If you want to be on a safe sidefor a crash or for the trouble what comes for sure, when WOTLK is open in China, make now from BOTH wow folders a backup copy, and save it on your harddisk (Shit, need to delete more porns) or on a external drive.

Congratulation. You can play now in EU/US with a EU/US client in your language, and you can play in China with a Chinese client in Chinese language. Ups, that not what we want, right?


OK, let’s go on.

Now you go to your D:\ World of Warcraft –EU/US folder and delete ALL files, But DON’T touch the folders.
You should delete files like wow.exe, wowerror.exe, wowlauncher.exe and so on.

Now you go to your E:\ World of Warcraft –China folder, copy ALL files in this folder (only the files) and paste these files in your EU/US folder.

Next step you go to your D:\ World of Warcraft –EU/US\Data\ folder. There you see a subfolder called enUS/enGB/deDE/frFR (depends, which language you selected during your installation).
Rename this folder to “enCN” and open it.

Inside you see around 10 MPQ-files and all named like patch-enUS.MPQ or locale-deDE.MPQ, all with the same add as your folders name before.
Rename all these MPQ files from enUS/deDE or whatever to …-enCN.MPQ.

Next step is the realmlist.wtf. You can open this file with the windows notepad or editor.
Whatever is inside this file, delete it and paste the following text inside and save it.

set realmlist cn.logon.warcraftchina.com
set patchlist cn.version.warcraftchina.com
set realmlistbn ""
set portal cn

Now you need the Data.zip file. Extract this file in your D:\ World of Warcraft –EU/US folder.
Check it now, you should have in your D:\ World of Warcraft –EU/US\Data\ folder a file called “patch-e.MPQ” (65KB) and inside the enCN folder a file called “patch-enCN-3.MPQ” (66KB).


Ok, nearly finish, hurry up,

Open the Simplauncher_3_1_3.rar file. Inside you can find a file called Skeleton.exe.
Copy this file to your D:\ World of Warcraft –EU/US folder.

You have to start the game with this skeleton.exe file.

When you start this file, the program pops up. In the top section tick the top left. That means play on Chinese servers. Push the big button and the game should start.

That's all, easy right.

Inside the folder “Fonts” must be now the following files inside:

Yay nice summary.

currently it is impossible to upgrade 2.4.3 client to higher client because: 2.4.3 is too old and has to connect the 9 servers if u wanna upgrade it to 3.0.5 and higher but the 9 has shut down all his wow servers, so...... The best solution, also the only solution, is to find a 3.0.5 or higher client.

Just one note if you don't want to have three WoW folders taking up over 30gig of your harddrive (if you have like a small 80gig standard bought PC or something, not many these days but I know some of you get given PCs by the school your teaching for in China which are pretty rubish most of the time), here is what you do:

Create your one WoW folder and install as above WolK
Create a desktop folder with as many sub-folders as you want to run copies of WoW
In each subfolder put the relevant WoW.exe and realmlist.wtf

Now each time you want to play a different version of WoW copy the .exe and realmlist to your primary WoW directory.

Make sure you have a copy for each version ie. China, US, Europe, Private Server that you are playing.

*as a note this will only work on servers that are all running the exact same patch, such as 3.1.3 as the MPQ files need to be the same for each version for this to work, otherwise like stated above your better to just copy the whole folder and patch your WoW to the appropriate client you need*

At the moment both US/Europe/China are now on the same patch (although china WoWexe is a slightly different version the game client is the same)

This alleviated say 3 verisions of WoW taking 11.2gb each to just 16.3mb

Do we have to create a new Battle.net account for every WoW account we have? OKay, But know the problem is not of an hour or two, I didn't sleep (for personal reasons) And I have been wting all Night (from 00:00 to now) And it's Still not working. Well I don't know if it works or not, But it's always showing An error Message : unable to validate game version... -_- (Maybe i did something wrong, don't know...)
Did Anyone try? And can share the experience of being back in CWOW again? (or helping other people to get in the game too ? That could be very usefull thanks. ^^')

Ok I know what's the problem ： Be sure to have the line
set realmlist cn.logon.warcraftchina.com in your realmlist.wtf file.

Then go on world of warcraft/WTF folder and delete the file config.wtf

or open the config.wtf, delete the line :
SET accounttype "LK"
and replace the line
set realmlist eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
with set realmlist cn.logon.warcraftchina.com

If after that you still get the error message that means you didn't replace the original wow.exe with the chinese one. If you don't know what I'm talking about, read the guide again, it's really well explained.

Now just that you know, when you'll log on the Chinese servers nothing will happen untill wedesnday at midnight. If you did everthing right, you'll get no message, nothing, it'll just hang on authentification for a while and then disconnect.

Just FYI.. All servers under Netease are up right now. But they have a new patch that enables people to use dual spec (but no Northrend yet), which is why some of you probably can't validate.

It does seem that getting wow.exe v 3.1.3.10146 and plugging it in to an EU/US version might allow us to play, and I don't see that the .exe itself has been posted anywhere. Has anyone tried this? If not, could someone post just the .exe?

I tried using the updater at:

Basically WOLK only works with WoW and BC installed so, i don't know about your problem but you should always try.

All the sites I checked only supply 30.3 to 3.08

Change your realmlist to US realmlist and connect to your account, it will pathc automatically (may take some time )

I think u missed to install also a Original Chinese WoW and copy the files from there into your EU/US WOW.

Only the Data.zip and simple launcher are not enough,

A Chinese WOW is required to copy some original Chinese Files which are not in the data.zip or Simple launcher!!!

To assure it works everyone should not follow many of the instructions its written as a step by step guide which makes it Fool Proof ; )

If you don't know what is the problem, just re-take the tutorial from the beginning.
