A friend and I will be attempting to start characters in the next couple of weeks. If I read your post correctly, you're planning on moving back over to the CN servers from the TW servers? Are you going to be on the same server?

On a side note, is there RAF (recruit-a-friend) on the CN servers? My friend and I would like to get the 3x experience bonus, but I can't read any Chinese, so I'm kind of stuck. Is there any guide for this on the forums? I can't seem to find one.

Thanks for the response. I've signed up for a trial account on the TW realms, changed my version to connect to the TW realms, made a character...and got slammed with a ping around 500. I tried using Netpas (VPN), but it makes literally no difference in ping. Is this normal, or am I doing something horribly wrong?

I'd rather not roll on CN servers, as I've played WOTLK for a long time in the states before moving here (and I'd reeeaaallly like to have RAF), but the fact that my ping to TW servers is the same as my ping to U.S. servers is pretty frustrating. Any advice?

500ms seems a little high, never used Netpass though. Maybe try 27net.net, you can try it for free. I played from shanghai using this vpn and had no major issues playing at around 200-300ms most of the time(stable in 25man raids). Just takes some time to find a few servers that works well for you.

Dealing with ping issues is something you better get ready to deal with if you don't wanna play on chinese servers. For me personally it was annoying at the beginning (going from 23ms to 230ms), but once you get used to it, it's fine. I'd go with 27net.net as a vpn choice caus when netpass sucks, there's nothing you can do ; with 27net you can still try other servers, hoping for a better ping.
