yes, it's coded so that u can't install it yet to prevent leak of info.

theoretically, yes, all u need is CD-key. taobao sellers can also send CDkey scan first, before they send the box.

and if u have a credit card it's easier just to buy from battle.net

One note about the real money auction house, apparently it will be tied to your battlenet account country. Not the game edition.

So if you buy the US edition but your battlenet address is France you'll only be able to use the EU real money auction house.

Also the game is exclusively online like a mmo, so even solo player mode is very sensitive to lag.

Diablo 3 official website just had a chinese version. They decided to block the us site just like they did with wow. Good job china.

there is no "chinese" servers, there are only 3 regions - americas, EU and asia, u choose freely between them. it's different from WoW system, as there are no so-known realms, each character just creates a game, which others can join

We probably shouldn't worry too much, as seen on the blue post they might merge all regions together later on.
And following suite with the SC2 servers, they might let us get on US servers for free without buying another copy too.
All we really have to worry about is where we're all going to play, so that we can play together. :3

And I don't think we'll lag in single player if we're playing on the US region. It would be surprising that they handle all the server loads. That would be cloud gaming.
And we could also probably access our accounts through an offline mode (Like in SC2). It'll just cut out all the achievements ect...

Sc2 has China mainland servers only, run by netease. Blizzard can't do business in China directly so they will sell the license to netease, and netease will run the game in China mainland.

Since the game can only be played online I bet they will do like starcraft 2 and require you to buy gametime cards to play on mainland servers.

Current Diablo 3 Asia servers aren't meant for China mainland, which is why there's no Chinese simplified version, and battle.net isn't accessible without a vpn for most Chinese users.

On Us Client , I use Sc2 on Asia servers, I get to pick between AMerica, Europe or Asia Pacific.

I play Sc2 without the need to buy game time cards.

I connect to battlenet with a ping of 100-200, i dont lag in games.

Ok , i just read an article about netease and D3 and Sc2, for mainland ppl if you want a ping of 10-20 , you can use netease and pay monthly fees, if you choose not to , and play on the normal D3 servers you get a ping of 100-200.

Thats why WoW and D3 and Sc2 have their own chinese versions of the game that connect to their netease servers.

I guess it would be nice to see how are ping is on the Asia Server before trying out Netease and be stuck paying them for game time.

Ping for asian servers will be good because it's for taiwan/HK/South korea, chances are they are located in China actually.

At least the small ping program tim linked above shows 40ms for me to Asian realms, 300ms for US and 500ms for EU.

No point in waiting for the mainland version (probably simplified Chinese only) when you can play with the global version.

I am currently dling the english client with bolomas link.
I would like to play the eu servers, will it be playable with the lag? How to buy the game anyway without tw version? Can't seem to find it on battle.net account.

u won't be able to play in english with TW account
to play in english u will need to have US or EU account(learned that hard way)
currently global play in not on, so u will be able to play only on the same region as your account is. hopefully global play will be enabled today.

Sigh yeah, wasted 400 rmb for the tw version and can't even change the language to english. Traditional chinese sucks when it comes to gear stats.

Global play should be available soon, petite I'd forget about playing on EU servers without a vpn, but you can always try.

I thought its US, EU and Asia region like SC2, so ping on asia should be playable.
