Ok, so I finally started... with the Chinese version which is not as hard as I expected. Sure, I have to look up a word or two in every dialogue, there is a lot of "weird" game-specific vocabulary, but I can pretty much understand everything... now I am thankful for buying an electronic dictionary

I have three characters on Maduolan... I leveled two of them a bit, but still cannot decide, which one is gonna be my main. Its just that sometimes I feel like playing a paladin and sometimes a rogue...

翠翠 - Human Paladin - lvl 14
温德烈 - Human Rogue - lvl 19
Ganeth - Tauren Shaman - lvl 6 (just got through the starting zone, more of an experiment than something serious... but who knows?)

My Chinese? Really nothing to write home about... it is my major, yes, but I have spent only two years studying it back in Czech Republic and now roughly half a year here in China. Still a long long way to go (I am preparing for the elementary/intermediate HSK now and hope to hit at least level 6, but it will require a lot of hard work). The thing is, language used in WoW is mostly spoken Chinese (not that written monstrosity called 书面语 ), and therefore not as difficult, vocabulary is the main problem. If you can look up unknown words fast enough (and you are patient enough), problem solved... but you have to have some understanding of the basic grammar...

But in chinese there is no grammar, isn't it??? no plural, no feminine, the verbs are always in the same form...you just have to add a word like "le" for the past and "ma" for question...no?

......... *speechless* ...........

Been playing on the US servers back in the day when WoW started.... But got tired and quit after a year and co GM'ed a ill server for some time.
Been a member of China Wow since May... but never got any of my toons past 25 (My chinese isnt good enough and cant remember all the quests) Just logged in to see if my credits had expired or something but found my toons in working order... so I googled to find if anyone had found a solution to changing the client into english and ... BAM it hurled me here.

So I'm probally gonna have to reroll and move server to you guys (my ping is always 100 to all the servers) since I left it again in the first place because I got lonely running around among a million people I couldnt comunicate with properly.
Been on 6 PvE server... but will give a yell ingame when I'm set...

How does a Gnome Priest sound?!? (usefull to the guild?)
And possible to get tiny boost up to 20 so I dont have to do it all over again gets kinda borring xping from scratch (US 3xMaxed, CN 5x20+ +10xMaxed on Ill Server 5x speed)

Nice to meet you Malkavia, welcome here French and Chinese represents the two biggest subcommunities but the rule is use english only (or try to limite the native language quotes).

Btw a gnome priest doesnt exist, you probably meant a dwarf priest But every other race/class is fine also.

But yea been a healer through DAoC (RR5 Druid), Several Healer classes on Shadowbane, Doctor on SWG etc... tho I mainly like rogues... But I do like Priests in Wow.. they just suck soloing (compared to other classes) But enough talk.. hehe... better ask the net runner to fix me up with that CD key...

No problem mate, if after lvl 30 you avoid question such "priest can revive?", all other questions might not let you been looked down . If you want to use the AH or need to know about chinese name of anything, you may have a look at our FAQ Glossary (I believe that you are interrested in flowers, their translations should be uploaded this week). For a better understanding of your skills and spell, please have a look at www.thottbot.com, which has better ping from china that wow.allakhazam.com but isnt as much as comprehensive.

PS: if nobody told you before, you are allowed to take 2 skills in addition of 3 secondary skills (fishing, first aid, cooking): fishing and cooking are just for fun (except fishing brings some component for alchemy that you cant get by another way); but you should take first aid, only noobs let it down.

hey guys. I'm Yorik, or Yorikcrush (don't ask) a level 60 ZS in some server on service 6... IRL I am a Canadian, in Canada, playing with my brother (who teaches english in China).

i've actually been playing Chinese WOW since Xmas thanks to this website, and the much appreciated hard work the nerd team did to crack the "Evil Patch".

On a side note: anyone know how to fix the recent (since about 1.5 months ago) increase of 300ms latency to the already 500ms (800+) I'm experiencing?

I've been playing WoW for about 1 year and a half and have quite a few characters on Server 1, 诺莫瑞根 （Gnomeregan). and on Server 4, 鹰巢山. I've played on Chinese WoW and enGB WoW (hacked it to work, kudos to this site for telling me how ) and right now i'm on enUS Burning Crusade client.

hi im english live in shanghai, getting chinese wow cause im fed up of the lag playing the EU one, i am very experinced player maxing out(70) a paladin, moonkin(gotta love it),feral druid(tank tbn)fire mage and was leveling a warlock. and ofc a few twinks. i want to join a chinese server to learn some chinese tbn and make new friends. atmo i am a club promoter in shanghai and i will be here for 4 years. trying to work out how to install wow now using the guide from globuline ty v.much. just wandering about servers, A or H, and what class is needed.

just found this forum yesterday. I have been looking for people who is in China and playing WoW. FINALLY!!! OYAY!

Anyway, I am Indonesien born Chinese, currently working in Shanghai. HI Naklin and Deadanus.

I am still noob though in WoW. Played for couple months in EU server from CHINA! Yes, its bloody lagging and i managed to get to level 30 something Druid. Then I gave up, and turned to chinese server. Currently playing in...not maduolan, but yisilan or something sounds like that. PVE shanghai 1 server. Character name is Magoo (mage). Right now, I am currently sort of lazy to play due to my bad chinese (only speak Indonesien, English, German, mandarin - Chinese dialect). SO, i have been desperately looking for the TBC patch to use English client to play on Chinese server. I would love to help whatever I can help to get that patch out. Um, i have written so long...wont bother you guys with other stuff. SO, HI EVERYBODY!

Me and at least 2 other Swedish friends will join up to spank some Chinese.
Starting to study Chinese in a few days here in Hangzhou, so lots to do right now.
In a week or so I'll buy me a computer and see if I can get the English version to work.
I've read allot in the forum and FAQ. The help is a bit old but might still work.

I joined this server to play with some of my local Chinese colleagues, but I play so rarely that I level really slowly. :p However, if anyone is around my level and sees me online, just remember I love doing instances. If you ever need a priest for an instance, let me know.
