1. able to play using 4.2 US client via encnlauncher.exe
2. able to play using 4.3 US client via encnlauncher.exe

What I did with my US client was to change back 3 files to its original us version

a. realmlist.wtf (needs to route to us servers)
b. launcher.exe
c. wow.exe
d. delete all ak files including the srs folder (this was just to make wow to its original untouched state)

then just clicked the launcher.exe (US) and waited for patch to complete.

This is so annoying. So, what I should do Clean install and patch to 4.3 then do what? I dont even understand the guide on page 1.

Is there no need for the launcher now then? or what? this guide has changed about 3/4 times already, im confused

If you have a back up foreign untouched client stored somewhere eventhough its 4.2 (better if 4.3) just use that and click its launcher.exe to patch it up to the latest which is 4.3.2

When you have a 4.3.2 us client all you have to do is change 2 things.
1. realmlist.wtf (edited to route to china servers)
2. launcher.exe (4.3.2 chinese version)

After above click the wow.exe, login to your account and have fun.

If you don't have a back up of an untouched foreign client, just try to repair the one you have.

Before repairing you need to change back the realmlist.wtf (to route to us). Put to the root wow folder any us wow.exe that you have (4.1 or 4.2 or 4.3) then click repair.

Ok, ive done a complete whole new re-install, .. god!

Anyways, its now updating from 4.0.0 (12911) to the latest
patch which its saying "Total Download Remaining - 13.5GB".

Is this right? once its fully updated, ill then change the realmlist.wtf
to the Chinese one and I can play?

yes, it's now a waiting game. if you have 4mbs connection, it will probably take 12 - 16 hours non-stop upto 4.3.2

then change the realmlist
then download the launcher.exe (chinese version)
replace the launcher.exe (US version) with the one you downloaded
then start wow via wow.exe

if you can't download the chinese "Launcher.exe" form the links provided in this post your workaround will be:

-after changing your realmlist.wtf file to route to china servers
-start the game using wow.exe and login. (if you see update or updating, don't touch it and let it complete) and wait until chinese launcer auto launches itself and tries to patch your client (it will fail)

re-start the game with wow.exe and login (it will be successful)

Kadava as soon as the launcher play button is highlighted you can change the realmlist and start playing. No need to wait for it to reach 100%.

Better do though, playing a client that is not completed yet is a pain, blue walls everywhere

mine wont let me test,, i am streaming yellow (sounds bad i know) but i cant delete or rename the launcher because it is in use.

as to the realmlist,, which folder should it be in again? and when i change it should it stay there?

ps: my DL of 20hours crashed... started over... 13gb to go

oh i have intact copies. on my comp. i deleted all changed stuff and redid the realmlist and launcher stuff and repaired again to be sure. now it is DLing again after reconfiging.

But the problem is, each try, i wont know until i have DLed another 13gb...

I think if you have a sure copy of the original realmlist.wtf , wow.exe & launcher.exe of your foreign client.
After you put them back just click the launcher.exe instead of the repair tool.

Since you have intact copies no harm in doing a trial and error it may speed up the process a lot

Note: using repair tool knocks back your patch 1 or 2 or 3 patches back. (probably the reason your downloading a big file again)

If you will be trying my suggestion after making your intact copy of wow before this patch 100% foreign and click its launcher you will know you are in the right track if it's downloading tools, then going to the compressing stage 15 - 60 minutes, then main patch phase from 4.3 to 4.3.2

Patching a 100% foreign client from 4.3 to 4.3.2

-click the foreign clients launcher.exe

then it will download updating tools for a few minutes
then it will go compression stage (15 - 60 minutes)
then it will go main patch phase (5 - 10 minutes)

oops my info may be incorrect 900mb may be the right number.
it's okay as long as you are in the patching phase of 4.3 going into 4.3.2

Hey Wakka,

The batch file just automates the renaming of launcher.exe. You can do that manually without a problem.

Basically, rename launcher.exe to launcher.exe.wic (or anything else), run the game and, before you sign in, rename launcher.exe.wic back to launcher.exe. Then sign in.

That should allow you to play the game using 27net.

The 4.3.2 ones or 4.3.3? I only have the 4.3.3 now. You really need to backup those files like indicated in the guides otherwise you'll break your install eachtime.

I need the 4.3.2 files. I thought I had them backed up, but my back up files are exactly the same size as the non-backup copies, and I'm also missing the Launcher backup

Do you know if a 4.2.0 enUS Launcher.exe would work for the updating?

if you were using 4.3.3 in chinese 4.3.2 revert back the original wow.exe and launcher.exe. then change your realmlist (backup the original) into

set portal cn

to prevent the client to autopatch in the futur. Better safe than sorry

Dont forget people which are using the 64bit files need to remove them before patching to 4.3.3!

Just remove Battle.net-64.dll, MovieProxy.exe and WoW-64.exe (Windows) or World of Warcraft-64.app (Mac OS).

Updated 64 bit files are availible via BNet.

ok i don't quite understand.

I have 4.3.2 now and was playing with the rename method solution last week. With this patch coming in, what should i do?

1. Dont touch the client (i.e. no update through launcher). and continue to use the rename method

OR

2. Update the client to 4.3.3 enUS. Change realmlist.wtf to point back to China server. Use the rename method to play?!?!?!?

i tried it with 4.3.2 and it's lagging as hell. hope they fixed smth with a 4.3.3 version.

I stongly recommand to use the 32 bits version. 1st reason is most players use the 32 bits clients, files uploaded on the forum will mostly be 32 bits versions, so if you don't keep your own chinese 64bit version up to date you might be offline for a while.

2nd reason Is evil patches aren't old stories. One day we may need to use a custom launcher or smth else and chances are it will only be available in 32 bits.

First of all, the 64 bit version does strictly require a 64 bit OS. Secondly, the minimum of 4GB RAM is required to fully function. In my case, the game performance is dramatically improved.

Concerning any further "evil patches", we can simply rename wow-64.exe to wow.exe and replace with the original one. Work perfectly.

P/S: Anyone figured out a way to avoid updating permanently?

I see, if you just have to change one file it's not much I guess.

For the update just change the realmlist like indicated in the guide. If your client points to the chinese patch servers chances are you won't be bothered until china update.
